Reason to brag

This post contains me shamelessly bragging away about my new eBook! There. You have been warned!

You may have noticed last week a new little addition to my side bar.

Ta daaaaaa!

Finally I have completed a four month revision of my business book for Mums – ‘Mum to Mumpreneur – A how to guide‘.

This book has been a labour of love since its birth in late 2011. I self-published the book through but didn’t get around to doing much promotion and although sales have dribbled through, in November 2012 I decided the book was ready for revision and an overhaul to release it in eBook format.

The beginning…

I began writing the book after my own journey from stay at home mum to business mum. In 2007 I began a virtual assistance business Ace Virtual Assistance. My main role was assisting business owners who needed administration assistance but didn’t have the need to employ an administration assistant as such. I began with general admin work and then as social media took over the business landscape by storm in 2009, I evolved into a social media manager – assisting businesses with social media marketing and promotion.

There are so many aspects to starting up a new business and really although I had experience in helping run our family tiling contracting business, mostly I was navigating by feel. This involved many late nights and hours of endless research. “If only there existed a book specific to my needs to show me the ropes“, I thought. And that was my light-bulb moment and the birth of ‘Mum to Mumpreneur’.

Who is it for?

The great thing about my ebook is that it is for anyone wishing to pursue their own business. Whether it be a work from home situation or bricks and mortar business you will find a great wealth of advice inside the pages to help with things from the initial idea, business set up/systems/procedures, getting online, social media marketing, work/life balance, customer service, and productivity. The book is also ideal for those Mums or Dads at home wanting to get into blogging and not sure where to start. I have a whole chapter dedicated to blogging and further chapters on social media marketing and how to get you business or blog out there!

But don’t take it from me….

I really hate to blow my own horn, so I am fortunate that I have had some great feedback that others have shared with me…

Kelly Exeter of ‘A life less frantic‘ – ‘This is an amazingly comprehensive e-book! It is fantastic!’

Lisa from Mummy Manifesto has reviewed the book which you can read here

Allie from Allie Bee Handmade Collections ‘I loved it!!! Especially the tip about hootsuite that one I will certainly implement straight away. Your book has really made social media strategy easy to understand and I feel comfortable now in tackling it head on

Reviewed by Jessica Nash on Motivating Mum website ‘The simple, yet informative, language makes it an easy read, all the while covering every important aspect. No boring and confusing jargon. Just easy to understand words of advice from someone who ‘gets’ the challenges WAHMs face.  You really do feel you could sit and have a coffee, and a chat with Jodi! really can’t say a bad word about this book – except perhaps it’s long overdue!’

Lisa and Stacey from Koolaman Designs had this to say (after I specifically met with them regarding social media marketing), “Stacey and I were fortunate enough to have had an opportunity to meet with Jodi and discuss how Koolaman designs social media strategy could be improved. Jodi has an in-depth knowledge of social media and keeps abreast of the latest changes. Because of Jodi’s expertise she  was able to discuss it in easy to understand terms, and relate it directly to our business.   We walked away from that meeting armed with ideas and strategies to increase awareness of our business in social media.  Most of which have been implemented and have created more traffic to our online store.”

And the catch…

There is no catch. No obligation. Nothing. Simply, if you are interested, the ebook is now available for only $7.95 and you can purchase here!

Finally a huge thank you to everyone who assisted with the book, and particularly Kelly Exeter for her gorgeous cover design and typesetting expertise!

Ending bragging session! I will resume regular transmission as of tomorrow
