What does living with purpose mean to you?

Do you ever feel you are simply floating along with the current? Letting life take you where it may? Our lives are so busy and time is a commodity. All too easily we get swept up in life, going from day to day, not living, just existing. Day by day, week by week, year by year life continues on. A momentum. One morning we will wake up and wonder what happened. We will have the photos on instagram and all the ‘look at me’  status updates on Facebook, but will we have the memories? The real memories that are held not only in our mind but our heart? In today’s world it seems we are simply existing with no real destination in mind and with no thought or meaning. So what would life look like if we were purposeful and lived with intent. It’s a thought I often ponder.

When I grow up…

Did you know what you wanted to be when you were growing up? Did you get to mid way through high school and have firm visions of what your career would be and where it would take you? Did you always have that burning sensation driving you towards your dream job? I’m guessing the answer is no. I think there are very few of us who strongly knew what they wanted to be when they grew up. I know I didn’t. I’d always loved writing but I never thought of it as a career option, rather just something I loved doing.

Are we over-thinking parenting?

Parenting is a tough gig.  We all know that. Even those who are not parents know that because the parents bang on about it all the time, myself included! But are we over thinking this gig? Are we trying to raise the perfect children in an imperfect world? It seems we are trying to cross all our T’s and dot our I’s and navigate the smoothest path into adulthood for our offspring, a rainbow filled path of fairy dust and unicorns.
