Closing my eyes, calming my mind it doesn’t take much to take me back to a time that was simple and beautiful. When each morning slowly wandered into the afternoon and one day melted into the next. A time of chocolate mates, mixed tapes and roller-skates. A time when the cares in the world were concerns of our parents and time was just a number on the digital clock in your bedroom.
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while will know I am a very reflective person and have fond memories of my childhood and days gone by. It’s funny though, my childhood was far from perfect or normal. Like any family we had our issues and then some. But that is a story for another day.
The story for today is the piece of writing above. It’s a story that has been lurking in the backstage of my brain for I don’t know how long but every now and then it bursts through the curtains and presents itself. The thing is, until now I haven’t really known what to do with it. It’s been auditioning for a play that wasn’t yet written.
My task now?
To write it.
Wish me luck
