Earlier this week I was busy tapping away at the keyboard minding my own business when my inbox notified me of a new message. I clicked over to see it was from Bron over at Maxabella Loves. Now Bron and I occasionally have a little email here and there, so it wasn’t totally out of the blue, but what the email contained was.
Just wondering if you’d like to be our first guest host of the Weekend Rewind this Friday? I read.
Now I love Weekend Rewind and have been blogging and linking up since Al used to host it, back in the ‘old’ days over at Life in a Pink Fibro, so squealing with excitement and trying ever so hard not to reply in capitals, I of course emailed back and yes!
So how’s your 2015 going so far?
Mine’s been pretty cruisy. We’ve been to the beach for a few days which was lovely to get away – even the weather was kind to us. While I was there clearing my head, I managed to do a lot of thinking and soul searching on my word of the year and became truly excited for the year ahead. Coming home I also decided that this year I’m going to make the most of my mornings. I’m more a night owl than an early bird, but in my first week of getting out of bed at 6am I’ve realised how beautiful this time of day really is. The pink skies, cool breeze and sounds of the morning really are beautiful. And a week into my new routine, I’ve been so much more energized and productive. Win! Win!
Yesterday hubby and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary, so kid free we headed out to dinner. We had a lovely night, and both can’t believe how fast the past ten years have flown by. There’s been ups and downs along the way, but we are both lucky enough to be able to say our bond is stronger than ever. Awwww!
Tomorrow we head off to the beautiful South Australian capital, Adelaide for the Tour Down Under cycling race. This will be our thirteenth year! Yep, cycling tragics here! But not only that, Adelaide is such a magical place to visit. The beautiful rolling Adelaide Hills with its quaint little towns, the exapnse of the Barossa Valley and MacLaren Vale filled with acres of grapevines and a few (okay a lot) of good wines and then the beaches of Glenelg and beyond. It really has everything. It’s probably my favourite place in Australia and it was certainly sad to see the devastation of the recent fires. My thoughts certainly went out to everyone affected and involved.
Then when we get back it will be back to school, and time to get stuck into my first year of FULLTIME freelance writing! Does anyone else think the school holidays have flown? It feels like the craziness of the end of the year was months ago. Or is that just me?
Well, that’s enough from me, although if you want to know more about me and my little blog pop over to my about page. But for now — on with the rewind! It’s been a pleasure hosting and I look forward to visiting the many blogs who link up. So link up below! You can also link up on Bron, Son, Kel & Son’s blogs.
Thank you for having me lovelies. x
