A bit of fun while I'm away

So, while I'm frolicking on the other side of the world, I thought it was a great time to have a little fun here.A couple of weeks ago I was nominated for (the second time) for a Liebster Award, by Author and Editor, Melinda Kovac. The Liebster Award is a little bloggy recognition award shared around and I'm honored to be thought of by Melinda. As part of the award I get to answer some fun questions from Melinda, so here goes!1. Who has inspired you the most?Wow! This is a hard question. I don't think I can pinpoint just one particular person who inspires me. I actually draw inspiration from many people at different times. From successful people right down to ordinary everday people. I really do think that every person can be inspiring in their own way.2. If money was no object, where would you travel to and why?I'm fortunate enough right now to be in Europe with my family, and I'm lucky enough to have done a fair bit of travelling in my time. But, there are many places I haven't been to where I'd love to see such as Canada, South America, Africa, Scandinavia. If money was no object, I think I'd take some guided tours into South America.3. What book are you reading at the moment? At the writing of this post (before my trip) I am reading 'Me Before You' as I'd like to see the movie after I read the book. I'm only a few chapters in, and I'm really enjoying the writing and story. I have finished two amazing books in the last two weeks - The Paper House by Anna Spargo-Ryan (brilliant) and The Dry by Jane Harper. Both are stunning debuts by Australian authors so go check them out.4. What is your favourite book and why?Nooooo! There is no way I can answer this question! I have lots of favourite books, but for different reasons, but... If I had to it would probably be the two books that I remember reading from secondary school 'To Kill a Mockingbird', and 'The Outsiders'. Both totally different books, but both are stories that spawned my love of reading.5. What is the last film you watched at the cinema?Good question! I can't remember. I think it was a kids movie over Easter, but I can't remember which one!6. Who was performing at the first concert you remember going to see?Living in country Victoria, I didn't get to go to any concerts when I was younger, so my first concert was actually Matchbox 20 in about 1999?? Not exactly sure, but it was amazing. I've been to many concerts since, but there's something memorable about the 'first time' isn't there?7. What was the last TV show you binge watched?I'm not really much of a binge watcher, but I do watch Nashville and usually watch 2-3 episodes at a time. I was devastated when it was cancelled! But, it's been picked up by CMTV in America so will continue on! Yipee!8. What's the earliest piece of writing you've ever had published? In about 2003, I wrote a poem and had it published in a Reader's Digest anthology of poems. Looking back, it was pretty awful, poetry is definitely not my strong point!9. In 140 characters or less, what would you tell your 16-year-old self?Oooh tough question. Okay, here goes "It's not love. It's holding you back. There's so much more out there to discover. Go."10.  What do you do outside of blogging? What don't I do?11. History or historical fiction?I love experiencing history when I'm travelling, but as for reading, historical fiction. I'm only a relatively new convert having recently read Pamela Hart's 'The Soldier's Wife' and 'The War Bride' and Natasha Lester's 'A Kiss from Mr Fitzgerald'.Now, I'm supposed to nominate some bloggers here, but instead I'm going to ask you guys to help out in the comments. So please:

  1. Answer one of the questions above
  2. Share the link to one of your favourite bloggers
