Stella’s Chocolate Brownies (from The Memories We Hide)

INGREDIENTS

185 grams dark chocolate

125 grams butter

3/4 cup sugar

2 free range eggs

1 cup plain flour

(icing sugar for dusting optional)

  1. Grease a deep 20cm square cake pan, and line the base with baking paper.

  2. Melt chocolate and butter together in a saucepan over low heat, and stir in sugar and eggs, one at a time. Beat well with wooden spoon, then stir in sifted flour.

  3. Pour into prepared tin and bake in moderate 180 degree Celsius oven for approx. 25 minutes. Cool in pan.

  4. Remove slice from pan and sprinkle with icing sugar before cutting into squares.

    Best enjoyed with a cup of tea.

Makes approx 12 brownies depending on what size you cut them. Store in airtight container.
